At The River Church Comox Valley, we’re embarking on an exciting new chapter!
At The River Church Comox Valley, we’re stepping into an exciting new season! God has provided us with a unique opportunity to transform an old bar in the heart of downtown Courtenay into a vibrant hub for worship, community, and outreach. This building, right in the center of town, will become a beacon of hope and light—a place where faith, connection, and service come alive.
But to turn this vision into reality, we need your partnership. Together, we can create a space that not only serves our congregation but also shines brightly as a testimony of God’s love in our community.
This new building will be more than just a place to gather—it will be a center for spiritual growth, connection, and service. Here’s what we’re envisioning:
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). This new location, right in the center of downtown Courtenay, is our chance to be that city on a hill—a visible, tangible expression of God’s love and grace. By transforming an old bar into a church, we’re taking a space once used for something else and redeeming it for God’s purposes.
This is more than just a building; it’s a statement. We’re planting ourselves right in the middle of our community, where we can be a light to those who need hope, a home to those seeking connection, and a haven for those looking for something more.
We’re inviting you to join us in making this vision a reality. Your partnership will help fund:
Every gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a space where lives are changed, relationships are built, and God’s love is shared. Together, we can build something that will impact our community for generations to come.
This is our chance to be a city on a hill—a light in the darkness, a place of hope and healing right in the center of downtown Courtenay.
Join us in building our new home—a place where faith, community, and hope come together.
Your generosity today will help us create a welcoming space for worship, community, and outreach. Every dollar you give brings us closer to opening our doors and making a lasting impact in downtown Courtenay. Click below to invest in our future!

"But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, 'How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!'" Romans 10:14-15

Ephesians 4:12-16
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
